MINA ROSE KINGSTON (TINSLEY) FMHS 1950 11/1/2008 Mom died unexpectedly Monday, October 27, 2008, peacefully at home in her sleep. She was born September 3, 1932 in Kokomo, Indiana, coming to Fort Myers in 1934 where she remained a resident until her death. Mom grew up on Fort Myers Beach before moving into town as a teenager. She graduated from FMHS in 1950 then attended Stetson University until her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Wallace M. Tinsley on September 11, 1951. They were married 56 years when Dad died in May 2008. Throughout her life mom enjoyed bowling, playing bridge, collecting antiques, traveling, reading and being with her family. She was a great Mom and Grandma! Bowling was one of Mom's biggest loves. She started as a teenager in high school and bowled until last year. She was a lifetime member of LCWBA, where she served as a director for a number of years and inducted into the Hall of Fame. Mom was also a state board member of FWBA. An avid bridge player, mom played quite well & loved a good hand of bridge. Learning bridge in college led her to become a member of several bridge clubs over the years and enjoyed many hours of fun with friends. Mom had an eye for beautiful things, which led to a love of antiques. She grew up in homes surrounded by antiques and learned a lot about different antiquities from her brother Ralph. After her children were grown Mom and Ralph opened an antique shop called "Things Unlimited". She had the business for about 8 years. Over the years mom took many trips to Europe and visited every state in the USA. Some of Mom's best times were spent in the motor home traveling with family and friends. The last trip Mom took abroad was to Ireland, a place she wanted to see before she died. She loved the country and had a wonderful time! Mom had the most love for her family. She is survived by her daughter, Karen T. Neubert (Robert) and sons Warren Tinsley (Marie), Wayne Tinsley (FMHS 1975) (Tina) and Grimes Tinsley (FMHS 1978) (Donna). Also surviving her are her grandchildren Tyler, Victoria and Sarah Neubert, Nerissa Kalbfeld (David), Christy Klebart (Damien), Catlyn Gottlieb (Brad) and Corey Tinsley (fiancee Nicole Hughes). Mom was preceded in death by her husband Wallace (FMHS 1950), her brother Ralph Kingston (FMHS 1947) and her granddaughter Sabrina Monique Tinsley (FMHS 1997). Our Mom and Grandma was a beautiful and special lady. She was a very giving and thoughtful person who would do anything for you. Whether you were her friend or her family, her love was never ending. Mom lived life to the fullest and loved each and every day. She was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved. We will miss her deeply, but we know she is with our Dad and Grandpa and free of all her worries. We love you Mom and Grandma. ==PICTURE== The family will receive friends from 1:00pm-1:45pm followed by a Celebration of Mom's life at 2:00pm, Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Anderson Funeral Home, 3654 Palm Beach Boulevard, Fort Myers.
