AVA BARFIELD (FMHS 1929) Miss Ava Barfield, 21-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Barfield of Collier City, died early yesterday afternoon following an accident a week ago near Marco. Miss Barfield fell from a truck and her right leg was nearly severed by one of the wheels. The shock of the accident was the cause of girl's death, according to Dr. H. Quillian Jones, who attended her after she was taken to the Lee Memorial hospital. The physician added that her pulse had jumped to 130, or twice normal, and had remained at 130 to 150 during the week at the hospital. The strain "wore her out," the physician said. Funeral arrangements, which will be in charge of L. W. Engelhardt & Sons, have not been completed.
